Rich in nutrients, grains are basic energy food that will have you bursting into the boardroom full of zest and vigour. Almost all whole unrefined grains can be beneficial to your health, usually the darker the colour, the more unrefined, the better it is for your health. Here is a list of healthy grains to include in your everyday diet:

Millet is high in iron, potassium, magnesium, vitamin E and the b vitamins. It supports the digestive system and improves your body’s ability to absorb nutrients. It’s a great energy booster.

Brown Rice is extremely beneficial for the nervous and digestive systems and is the least allergenic of all the grains.

Rye is excellent for the liver and this grain is renowned for alleviating headaches if you are a sufferer.

Pot barley is the healthier wholegrain version, which is good for the stomach and indigestion

Kamut contains twice as much protein as wheat and more minerals, particularly magnesium and zinc as well as 16 amino acids and essential fatty acids too.

Vegetables such as sprouts, broccoli, asparagus and spinach will maintain high energy levels.

Yogurt is full of B vitamins, which helps your body convert nutrients into energy.

Eggs supply a high amount of protein throughout the working day and are a great source of energy, although experts advise not to eat more than three eggs a week.

Beans and lentils are a great source of potassium and carbohydrates.

Seeds such as pumpkin and sunflower seeds are a great source of energy.
